Our Jewelry Process

Our process is centered around you having a “jewelry bar” experience, where you can try on and choose from the wide selection of chains, charms, and connectors we offer.

It's Simple And Fun

1. You begin by trying on your unique choice of gold-filled or Sterling Silver chain for your wrist, ankle, ring, or necklace. (we help you make sure it’s custom fit to your liking!)

2. In this step, you can have fun customizing your piece with charms, connectors, engravings*, etc., and where they will be placed. (and we can help you with that too)

*Engravings can be added on after the design and take less than 5 minutes.

3. If you have decided on a permanent piece, we place a leather patch between you and the chain to protect you as we weld both ends together. For those interested in watching the process, don’t worry…we provide you with safety glasses!

4. If you have decided on a clasp jewelry piece, we weld the clasp on one end and a jump ring on the other so you can remove it whenever you want.

Estimated process time: 15-45 minutes (depending on customization)

Permanent Jewelry FAQ

Does permanent jewelry hurt?

Not at all! The spark that is generated during this process is NOT of high temperature. Permanent Jewelry will not be placed directly onto the skin and will be covered by a leather piece to protect you. The chains applied during this process are thin enough to last but not thick enough to cause harm to the wearer in the event that it becomes caught on an object.

What happens if I need an MRI or surgery?

First consult with your Surgeon/Doctor. You may not need to remove it! In the event a chain needs to be removed, it can be taken off with a pair of sharp scissors or nail clippers. It is best to find the welding point and cut at that jump ring. At Perfused Jewelry, we offer free re-welds as long as you have your chain!

Can I go through TSA?

Yes you can! Passengers are typically not required to remove any jewelry.

What if my chain breaks?

If your chain breaks within 2 weeks and lose your chain, we offer a replacement of the same chain. After 2 weeks, we offer free re-welds for life for as long as the length of the business, but your chain MUST be present. Unfortunately, we do not offer any replacement chains after 2 weeks.

What if I need to remove it?

If the jewelry needs to be removed for any reason, it can be removed with scissors or nail clippers and re-welded if desired.

Does it require any maintenance?

The chains being used can undergo months of wear without needing to be deep cleaned depending on lifestyle.

How do I clean it?

We ask when showering, you let running soap and water touch against the chain. Also making sure to clean your skin under the chain. Lotions, debris, and other particles can get stuck between the chains. To deep clean, use soap, (we find dawn dish soap works great) water, and a soft bristle toothbrush and gently rub against the chain.

Can be permanent jewelry be for everyone?

Please keep in mind that while Permanent Jewelry is meant for everyday wear, it is not indestructible and may not fit all lifestyles. Just like any jewelry piece, it should be treated with care.

Is there a certain age limit?

For those under 16, we ask that parents accompany their young ones. Since children are still growing, we highly recommend adding a clasp.
